Our philosophy

Spanish for Baja Residents is an integrated learning system that focuses on pronunciation and conversation. This program is part of our parent school Toani Sala de Idiomas, which is a language school dedicated to teach Spanish, English and other indigenous languages of Mexico like Náhuatl. Spanish for Baja Residents was created to help a large community to socialize with locals while living in Mexico

Our mission

Our mission is to empower the foreign-speaking community in Baja to communicate with locals in Spanish, as it is spoken in the region; to help them explore and understand the Mexican culture through language.

Our vision

Our vision is to offer an efficient and progressive learning system of Spanish for adult learners of foreign-born origin living in the peninsula of Baja California.

Toani and our logo

Toani is short for Tlatoani, which means, among other things, ‘the one who speaks’ in the native Mexican language of Náhuatl. Our logo represents the action of speaking and the design is based on ancient writing of the Náhuatl language. Back in the day, Aztecs and speakers of Náhuatl used pictograms as means of written communication. Events, actions, dates, names and ideas were all conveyed through conventionalized images. Since we like pronunciation and conversation, our logo strongly represents our school and the philosophy behind our teaching method.
